Notes:  This one has to win some sort of award for longest time around the workshop - It was first drilled in 2003!  It was originally intended to be one of that year's Ligne Bretagne Yule pipes, but it turned out to be too nice - They were primarily meant to be sandblasts, and this block had grain that would only look its best as a smooth.  Wonderful bird's-eye!  It's just like a tube cut of briar, perfectly showcasing the cross-grain on the bowl with bird's-eye on both sides.  It has a couple of small black flaw spots on it, but that's why it ended up being an LB Collector instead of being finished into a 500 € Talbert Briar.  Note that this is a pipe for enthusiasts of big bowls!  The bowl is pretty much all chamber, and will hold enough tobacco to keep one smoking all evening.  Passes a cleaner easily, despite the bend.  My only regret is that the pics don't do a very good job of conveying the cigar/torpedo shape of the stem & shank - the shank tapers sharply to a precise crease where it joins the bowl.  Unfortunately, only in the view of the pipe bottom can you get an idea of the way the stem & shank are shaped.  Sits perfectly, like a handy ale glass!

Length: 15 cm
