DESCRIPTION: When we bought the shop, we inherited a number of "mystery machines" - pieces of hardware which we have absolutely no idea of the usage of. This example consists of a levered system that slides both drilling ends inwards in sync, to drill whatever is chucked in the center from both sides. How this applies to pipemaking is anyone's guess. Note with fascination that the drilling chucks are BELT-driven, meaning that whatever motor is meant to drive each must also be able to slide in sync with the moving drilling stocks.
