![]() Goblin #2 "Stenchcoin" ![]() Stenchcoin was the absolutely perfect name for this warty, knobbly, fat little creature. It's a gnarly little beast in every sense of the word, though I hope it will give a sweeter smoke than its appearance suggests! I was actually half-thinking of the goblin Blix from the film "Legend" while working on this, though the pipe came out a good bit chubbier and more roly-poly than the movie goblin. ![]() Unlike the washed, earthtone greens of goblins #1 and #3, this one is my older, semi-standard deep green color, a shade that has proved quite popular on all the pipes we make here. I deliberately did NOT buff it off to make a hig grain contrast, because I wanted the stain to be more even in tone and accentuate the form rather than the grain... which is quite excellent again in this pipe, especially the amazing bird's-eye bottom! ![]() I do seem to like proportions like this more and more. ![]() ![]() The only flaw on the pipe is a chink at the bowl rim (seen above) where more of the briar blasted away than I'd have liked. Then again, that's the nature of the wood and the whole idea is that these goblins are natural... and besides, what's a goblin without a scar here or there? The large diameter bowl chamber and straight-walled (not conical) design give it a very good tobacco capacity despite its squat proportions. ![]() Length: 12cm Bowl Height: 4.5cm Chamber diameter: 2.4cm round-bottomed Chamber depth: 3.1cm Weight: 67.4 grams To Purchase: Just email me and request "Goblin #2"! |
