![]() Goblin #3 "Seewocket" ![]() Look out, it's getting away! My entire stylistic goal with this pipe was to make it look like it was "in motion"... Just the sort of small, crablike, scuttling thing that would vanish into the undergrowth after a second's glimpse from the corner of one's eye. The staining on this one is the same as on Goblin #1 - a mixed wash of earth tones and forest green, meant to simulate the look of watercolors on canvas, and it also was hand-rubbed with an oil finish rather than glossed, giving it a low sheen instead of a flashy shine. ![]() Giving it three legs was a conscious decision, to increase the sense of something unnatural and otherworldly. It's actually remarkably convenient because it's easy to hold by the "feet" and it is its own pipe stand! No need for a rest, you can sit it down anywhere... Just hope it doesn't escape when you aren't looking. ![]() The swirly acrylic stem is another from that material that changes colors depending on the lighting, shifting from a gold/amber swirl to a deep red color as it's taken from incandescent to fluorescent light. ![]() It's coming to get you, Barbara... ![]() I particularly like the weird, starfish-like appearance of the bottom when it's turned over. Just don't let it thrash around too much, or it will spill your tobacco.
