Goblins
Goblin #7
"Squidling
"

Squidling is easily the most labor-intensive and challenging of the goblin shapes thus far, reflecting his slightly higher price - seemed to take forever to get finished, he did!  But I think he's the best example yet of my evolving "Froud Green" staining technique, displaying a really earthy, forest-ey range of deep greens and brown-greens across his surface, with the subtlest hints of autumn gold here and there.

Squidling is right up there with Seewocket for appearing to be "in motion"... except that in this case it's a scuttling sort of tentacley scurry rather than a furious scamper.  The stem is horn again, though I don't have any close-up photos of it since it is largely dark brown and the graining requires bright light and close inspection to see, except in a few places.

Larger than the other goblins, Squidling has the deepest bowl so far of the bunch, and of course he's a sitter... or perhaps a shuffler...
The bottom view gives the best idea of the wild spiral of the base tentacles.

Squidling's close-ups really show what a beautiful piece of briar this is, with full grain all over that flows forward across the surface to help emphasize the sense of motion.
